Demystifying the value of design in manufacturing

Type: Workshop

Location: Auckland

The EMA and The Manufacturers' Network invite you to a workshop to explore the value of design in manufacturing. Expert Jesse Keith will help demystify the differences between design, innovation and creativity. Jesse is a design expert who, after training in Industrial Design at Massey University, has worked as a designer in manufacturing environments in New Zealand, Australia, Singapore and China.

In this workshop Jesse will explore what design is as a process, as a business value in terms of being design-led, and as a discipline, for example the difference between being an industrial or graphic designer. He will highlight how clarifying what a design-led process really means leads to better outcomes.

The workshop will include a round table discussion on the pain points, opportunities and ideas about how design and manufacturing could better align.

The workshop will be followed by networking and refreshments.
