NZ Manufacturing and Design 2018 Conference
The MaD Network is a cross-disciplinary community of New Zealand researchers in manufacturing and design that works in close collaboration with industry to envision and shape New Zealand’s future manufacturing economy. The MaD mission is to develop expertise and capability in translational research, to grow New Zealand’s high-tech manufacturing economy. The MaD vision is for New Zealand to be recognised as a leading, technology empowered economy driven by innovative, high-value, niche manufacturing and design.
MaD2018, a national conference and a Techweek'18 Curated Programme event, will foster a collaborative future for the New Zealand manufacturing and design industry as well as for the associated research and development sectors. Building on last year’s successful and well-received inaugural conference (MaD2017), MaD2018 will continue to provide a platform to enhance the competitive advantage of MaD industry partners through effective collaboration between researchers and companies.
Engaging, short TED-Talk-Type presentations from researchers, industry and government representatives will enable productive communication between delegates from different backgrounds. In addition, MaD2018 will showcase research work by way of Poster presentations, to be displayed in the exhibition and networking area; local and international Keynote Speakers will set the tone; Panel Discussions and Breakout Sessions will provide topic specific engagement opportunities; and a ticketed MaD2018 Conference Dinner will be the gala event on Monday 21 May 2018.
The MaD2018 Conference Committee encourages you to attend MaD2018 (a Techweek'18 Curated Programme event) to learn about exciting, new manufacturing and design research; to be inspired through examples of positive collaborations between industry and researchers; and to hear from high profile Keynote Speakers.
Early Bird Registration for MaD2018 is now open.
The MaD2018 Abstract Portal closes on 16 February 2018. Please submit your abstract according to the guidelines on our website. Industry representatives and researchers are encouraged to present (orals and/or posters) at MaD2018, with the aim of a 50:50 balance of industry:researcher oral presentations during MaD2018 Technical Sessions.
