EMEX Seminar: Closing the gaps: Short & long-term measures to address the skills shortages in manufacturing.
The Manufacturers' Network are pleased to be taking part in the Seminar Programme at the EMEX Trade Show, to be held at Auckland's ASB Showgrounds, from 1 - 3 May 2018. We will be running two presentations and panel discussions which we encourage our members to come along and listen to, as well as to visit our stand.
Seminar 1: Closing the gaps: Short and long-term measures to address the skills shortages in manufacturing will be held on Tuesday 1 May at 9:30am, at theSeminar Room in Hall 2.
This presentation will focus on how we can help closing our serious skill gaps in manufacturing, looking at short and long-term measures to address the skills shortages in manufacturing. Essentially, we want to work towards answering the question – how can we get better at growing our own, both as an industry and at the individual business level.
Dieter Adam, CE of The Manufacturers' Network, will share this slot with a couple of people who are very experienced in recruiting and mentoring apprentices so as to ensure a positive experience from the apprenticeship for both the apprentice, and the employer.
We continuously hear from manufacturers about the challenges they have getting skilled workers, across many skill levels. This presentation will provide some real practical advice and insights to those running businesses who are trying to find skilled staff, and those who are bringing on apprentices.
We are proud to be involved with the EMEX Trade Show - the biggest one of its kind in New Zealand, to help raise the profile of manufacturers in New Zealand. We would love to see you there supporting your fellow manufacturers.
